A default HD wont mask all the other, larger problems that classic faces.
Not to mention you keep forgetting the aspect of community and what a vital role that plays in a successful server.

Let me remind you again, let's go back 5 years, a couple months before the npc server switch, the HD was DEFAULT, the levels were the GTA levels.

What was the player count?
30.
UN was at 200+.

Clearly it's the HD that is the problem, even though it didn't solve anything 5 years ago.

and as for contego blaming storm for starting the whole mess with custom systems and HD. it isn't his fault, it was forced on him to make everything serverside in the sake of security, so Graal Classic wouldn't be the trainer infested zone it was before. If you want to direct your blame on the custom systems of classic being created, divert your blame to stefan, he was the one that made that call.

Classic was dying long before default HD was removed.

You're right it was dying.
But rather than improve what players wanted such as events and more things to attract the kinds of players you had there; You develop a new HD and a Trading Card Game????? WTF?
