When has anyone gained some novelty when winning a guild war? There have some but a majority of the good wars were just in PK rooms across all servers. Bragging rights is good enough. That's how it has been before. Perhaps you never been in a real guild war.
The fishing idea sounds nice but I would say to make the drops severely limited for tickets. Notes could be somewhat of an idea if people could drop random notes in the water
