I see what they mean.
Imagine making a paper cube, setting it on a table, looking down at it and folding out the front face to look towards you.
I disagree with what you should do about it, though.
Don't shorten the flat surface. That's tilting it the opposite way to the perspective you want... that's getting along the lines of those horrible cars on graal that you see the front grill and windshield but nothing else.
Shorten up the bottom legs a lot instead. Since we're looking at it from above, if you leave the legs 1/3 their current size and give an impression of the bottom structure, instead of illustrating it from a front view perspective, it will look a lot better. |
