Roleplaying can be fun, but only when it's necessary. In Graal, everyone basically follows the same path. If all the players acted like their character, everyone would pretty much act the same. In games when you choose a class and/or race, everyone's path varies greatly. Then, the players should roleplay, as in immerse themselves in their virtual character. Otherwise, they won't get as much out of the game. So my verdict:
Graal: No roleplay (You can if you want, but you'll just look stupid. Come on, everyone! Let's create different stories about how we found our shield.)
Any online RPG: Definitely roleplay! (There are so many things you can do with roleplaying, and it can be fun.) |
