But catching scammers doesn't take millions out of my pocket each year, so they aren't really compareable other than you'll never stop ethier.

The comparison I made wasn't to do with money so much as it was to the wasted effort that could be spent doing better things.
By the way the war on drugs is causing more harm than good. Because by by banning a substance you automatically hand it over to organized crime and the black market. These criminal organizations become very powerful from the billions of dollars they rake in each year from the illegal sale of drugs. And then of course with the potential billions of dollars to be made in this market and the fact that there is no police force or government to regulate/control it, there is inevitably endless violence.
and thats just a start of a long list of problems with the war on drugs.
But heres how you know this war will never be anywhere close to successful:
Ask anyone who has been in prison, from a super max to a little jail house, and they'll tell you that you can get every kind of drug imaginable in there. If you can get all those drugs in a super max prison how the hell will they ever stop us from getting the stuff out here on the streets ? This proves that no matter how many walls you build. No matter how many Cameras you install or how many cops you put out on the street you will never be able to stop people from getting what they want. Supply and demand... If there is a demand for it there will always be someone willing to supply it.
I feel very passionate about this topic and couldn't resist the temptation to go on a rant. Sorry for the derail.
