Its rounds can last for an indefinite amount of time, whereas something like Deathmatch restarts after a time limit or when 1 person is left. Alpha is 10 times more fun, but it has kind of faded into the background of the overly popular spar rooms on the same dropship.
My old version of the dropship had Alpha as the map that would predominantly come to your attention over the sparring rooms. If I had a little help from
someone it would have been even better because if you died on Alpha, you'd basically spawn right next to the teleport to get quickly back into the action instead of having to trudge all the way up from the entry docks, through the corridor and then to the Alpha teleports.
