Which quest is Sartan's quest.. is that the one where you get jailed? I didn't think it was that bad although it took some time for me to figure out how to kill the final boss.

(I've just started doing all the quests on classic again in the past month.)

If that's the one then I found it easiest to let his fire reflect off the north and south door and hit him thus over time killing himself.

edit: I thought the scripting behind the rat boss was very poor. I've had tougher fights from the default baddies.
