"Last stand events," the ones with the bots that an ET spawns that mow people down until there is, of course, one guy left, are horrible, and I emphasize on this.. HORRIBLE events for distributing weapons to the public. These kinds of events pose all sorts of problems, like the fact that an ET can choose who wins and who loses. All an ET would have to do is spawn bots all on one side, where their "friends" are not located, and then leave their non-staff related buddies unscaved. Winning a "Last Stand Event" is also determined by how much money a player has in their pocket. Cookies and medkits are large factors in determining who wins-- Whoever has more stuff to heal with, or who came with more hitpoints will win.
Strategy? What strategy? I see people standing in corners while the bots fire a straight line of bullets that pass by them, I see people huddled against each other, trying to get the other to take the blunt of the attack from a stationary enemy, and I see people being attacked by several bots while others stay inert, not taking any hostile fire in any form.
Does this cowardice truly deserve to be rewarded with a prize-- a prize that should belong to someone who worked hard for this opportunity? Zone's event systems are currently awarding people by sheer luck, which is perfectly okay in scarce amounts, and those with outstanding advantages not related to skill, but to wallet size and administration relationships.
EDIT:- This is addressing the fact that several of the weapons are being hosted off in such a matter.. Perm ones, even. |
