Helicopters are base snatchers. All they have to do is drop close to the ground, and then they take the base without any problem whatsoever. If someone tries to defend the base from the helicopter, they get rocket spammed. The helicopter flies off, lands in an area unreachable by foot, then reloads and flies back to spam more rockets and create general annoyance.
The streamer is the only thing that makes killing helicopters possible, (except for other helicopters) and even then, you need a gold box to get that item (not to mention you have to own one before the match.)
Either there needs to be major work done on how the helicopters function or more anti-vehicle items and weapons need to be added. Even a stationary AA turret at certain bases or strategic points would make it more fair for ground troops.
Personally, I'd remove its ability to take bases while being piloted-- a nerf that would force the pilot to exit from the helicopter and take the base, crippling the cheap "take-and-run" tactics that are currently employed.
On another issue, there should be a delay when capturing bases, and that you have to remain in a certain area for a set time in order to convert the base. However, multiple personell can speed up the process, but enemies nearby would slow it down, if not bring it to a halt when they enter the capture-zone. |
