What's more important to you?

Catering to others or catering to yourself?

I'm talking about with style. I, personally, like my levels to look very Classic-esque. No, I don't mean classic cliffing and tile errors, I mean simple detailing, simple houses. I tend to get a lot of slack about this, though. People tell me that it's way too simple and it usually ends up with me getting negative reactions... but on the other hand I love the style so I don't see myself changing anytime soon. It's not because I can't take a critique, it's simply because I find the 'newer' direction of levels very ugly, personally... so I find it hard to make a level I know looks ugly to myself.

So, do you style to please yourself, or do you style to make others happy?
