Yes, cannot be attacked by players - not monsters.
Otherwise you can hop on peaceful mode and run into a dungeon - then when you cry to Stefan I'll laugh as he says "x-x?".
I can see MAYBE making it so the monsters don't attach in a SAFETY ZONE... but don't remove it entirely. Even then you're just making the trades more of a playground than it already is.
