Okay, this is a very nice idea, though I don't think they should have any stronger claws unless the humans get stronger swords.. And I don't think you should be able to start as this race.. Perhaps a quest, and at the end is a pool, whenever you get into it it will transform you into an Eridian? And if you go the quest route, they should travel as fast in water as humans do.. Thus just the speed advantage.. And go with the human route, have someone make a body that you can only use if your an eridian and a few only-eridian heads.
