Posting wiki news articles

Introduction

The wiki's news page is a good way to keep Graal players up-to-date with your playerworld's development progress. News is taken from the wiki's News page and also posted on the Graal website and the F8/login window in the client.

Here's a quick how-to on updating the news on the Graal Bible.

Log into the wiki

Start by logging into the wiki. You most likely need to be a subscriber in order to log in. Just use your existing Graal username and password.

Posting your article

Once you've logged in, you can begin.

All news is collectively shown on this page: http://wiki.graal.net/index.php/News. However, you can't edit this page. Instead, you need to edit the subpages (since the wiki is organised so that the news items are listed by year and then month).

Start by locating the correct page. If it's September 2007, then you'll want to edit the page News/2007/September, so you'll want to navigate to http://wiki.graal.net/index.php/News/2007/September. Then click "Edit this page".

Probably the easiest way is to copy and paste an existing news article, and then just drop in your own title and content. Once you are finished, save the page and the changes will be displayed immediately.

Uploading an image

If you want to attach an image to your post, like a number of the existing news posts have, then you need to create a new page in the Image: space. For example, if you want to make the image "MyImage.png", you would go to http://wiki.graal.net/index.php/Image:MyImage.png, and then upload the image into that space.

Once you've uploaded the image, you can then include it into the News page using the following wiki code: [[Image:MyImage.png]].
