Back when Graal used to have offline multiplayer(splitscreen, 4 player's at one computer), they had to fit the controls for all the players on one keyboard.
ASD, arrow keys were for 1st player, numpad was for 2nd player, IJKL was for third player... and I don't remember if there was anything for 4th player. That's why there are 4 columns of controls in the control options, because there were 4 player's worth of controls. I have no idea why they kept all the other controls around though.
