How about this, when you blow up a boat there will be some wreakage in the sea where it sunk. Just bits of wood and logs ect.
Because In reality if you blow up a boat it won't just totally disapear would it?
No, there'd be some bits of wreakage left. Well since this wreakage will also dift away in reality make it with a set time limit. Like disapears after a couple of minutes.
I know you'd probably hate this idea because you'd crash into the wreakage. But if your a good sailor. You'd be able to sail around it.
