You can only learn scripting by scripting. I know at least I can only script by editing scripts (even the System NPC was just copy and paste...and Bowling was a joke).
But I still think that more important than Who's On the GST is What Does The GST Do? If they're using resources only available to a Global Team to work on projects that Only a Global Team could do for the benefit of All Servers Equally, it's a lot different than if they're Updating the Wiki and Answering Questions and Helping PWs That Ask Nicely. Granted, the GST can do a lot of good by updating the Wiki and answering questions, but that doesn't require even the slightest knowledge of scripting. It's just
