Calling him "son" is hurting the chances of anyone even caring what you have to say. Not to be getting on your case again, but if you're going to point this stuff out with other people, I find it necessary to point out your flawed logic.
Calling someone "son" or "kid" or "junior" is just showing that you're trying to demean him and place him underneath you in terms of intelligence or superiority or maturity.
