Aetherforge - LATs - NATs - GATs
|
Aetherforge is currently being developed as a classic server on the surface, however, this is a temporary front and behind the scenes gears are turning for an isometric tile-based RPG, with heavy influences of tactics style gameplay. The server is set in a fantasy medieval meets machine-age world. The world itself will be massive, but the custom movement system will make exploring unlike anything you've experienced previously in graal. There will be several methods of travel, to include mechanical as in steam engines, and magical as in portals and teleportation. Updates will be frequent with full-scale world changing events. Don't ever expect a foot race, or trivia. When someone says event, expect towns to be destroy, volcanos to erupt and continents to split in two. Demons to be released, new technologies to be discovered and castles to crumble to the ground.
LATs - Needed to build onto the current server map and to help in the planning and designing of the upcoming two gmaps as well as to design quests, dungeons and forests that will be on a load-level basis, as opposed to linked as a gmap.
- Must be able to provide 2 level examples.
- Must not be involved in other playerworld projects.
- Must have a basic knowledge of things an LAT should know. drawunderplayer; dontblock; etc.
NATs - Needed to script custom baddy NPCs, a custom experience/leveling system, player-movement system, and map/player tracking system for a future upgrade of the current server. Planned map system will be scripted and will need an on-the-fly editor for the LATs to edit the world map ingame. More to explain on inquiry.
- Must be familiar with GS2 and serverside scripting.
- Must not be involved in other playerworld projects.
GATs - Needed to create a new set of tiles unlike standard 16x16 tiles. These tiles will not be limited to a tilesheet like the standard tiles, and will be much more open and easier to use.
- Must be able to display depth in full-isometic and 1/4th-isometric views.
- Must be at least somewhat familiar with ganimation and sprite sheets.
- Must not be involved in other playerworld projects.
If you have any further questions, post them here, or forum PM. I would be happy to answer them, and I look forward to seeing you all on Aetherforge. |
