The idea seems interesting.

When I was working on new maps (which aren't in the process now because lack of approval, for months =/), though, I was thinking there would be "rare" items or items not found on the main map, so new foods could be cooked or some materials needed to craft material, perhaps smith materials, in a blacksmith or something along those lines.
