Kind of like a little kid, hanging out with bigger ones, and he's desperately trying to be funny.
He knows a few line or two that they use, and they all laugh about - and he's just rocking in his chair, grasping the seat trying to be patient to say it at the right time, but without thinkin he just blurts it out.
