Well, "food" (the meat bombies drop) is VERY heavy, especially when you have 100
Bread is difficult to make, and "food" from the bombies isn't that easy to get in large quantities... Hence the reason we have a tavern to begin with.
I realize I said this wasn't real life, but we have fast food restaurants for a reason... not only because they taste yummy... but becuase humans are too lazy to make their own meals!
