Your question, Antago, is does when one use the internet, do they become absorbed by it? The internet is now the most efficient source of communication (I include the communication of information), though it's also the least secure. Classic game models include solitaire and a simple game of tag. The computer allows one to play a game alone, or also to play a game that involves interaction with others. People that become addicted to the internet are often people that experience loneliness.

The internet also provides a means of creativity and productivity as Stefan has stated. Creating an environment for mass communication and interaction is very intriguing. People want to interact and have fun in a game. This is Graal's market, though I seriously think they could improve profits if they lowered the price of a classic subscription to $5. Nobody wants to pay for a game when there are other games just as good that cost nothing.

Still, it's not impossible to play Graal and not be addicted to it. I'm more addicted to programming, and Graal offers a good medium for practicing, though if nobody pays me I'll probably just start making my own form of Graal Online. The people who develop Graal Online are usually amateurs, which gives it a severe disadvantage in the quality of labor, and which at the same time is a smart one; they're getting it for free.

Oh wait, let me restate that, they're actually getting a profit from the development... and I doubt anyone could really make up their minds on whether that's really smart or really stupid.
