Yes, I would also like to see an RPG, but only if it is done with high high high quality. Otherwise, just stick with Classic ideas. Quests, lots of player-made content, and a lot of updates that you as a staffmember work hard for, as well as a variety of npcs and a thorough overworld. (One thing that gets me annoyed is a massive overworld with very little places to go.)
When Okiesmokie and I worked on UN together (*Insert thematic clash of lightning*) we worked on the schematics of a basic RPG that we had planned to implement on UN. However, stuff happened, the project got scrapped. Okie is working on it again on his own server, Thamhic. (Although right now, stuck at a shortage of GATs.)
However, it is not so much a lack of scripting of an RPG that kills player servers, it's lack of design to the RPG fundamentals itself. Sure, you can have a wonderful RPG script, but if you don't think it out to where it actually makes a balanced and playable game, you get an RPG idea that doesn't allow anyone any flexibility. |
