Inflation happens. People need money for a house, people want a house, people will get the money for the house.

It's always been an open-ended system anyway. Unlike most economies, where the production of money is strictly controlled, you can always just "make" more money out of nowhere. The guy you sell fish to never has trouble selling the fish to someone else for the same amount, and your money never gets to whoever buys the fish.

Maybe what Graal needs is an economic slowdown. There are 100k Gralats in existance, ever. When it's up, the guys that give you Gralats can only give you half as much, there's a recession because the economy is stagnating because too many people are hording it.
