Blonkt, try moving in a pattern like this, according to how the person is following you:
up,up right, quickly up left, quickly up right
Just Zig-Zag. This works because if a person walks up, and a person walks diagonally up, they still have the same speed going up, which, I might add, is completely impossible irl, but hey, I don't think you can change that.
(In other words, If I walk up-left, and you walk Up, and there is a straight line drawn North of where we are standing, then we will reach that line at the same time.)
