I like the whole being able to rent out any building idea.

Let me add to this.

When the building is purchased, it gives you three options to choose from (Store, Restaurant, Apartments and Household). If store is selected, you will be prompted to enter the name of your store (which will count as your employees tags aswell). The same applies for Restaurant and Apartments. If you want to change the theme of your building, you must either abandon the building and rebuy or talk to a high staff member capable of changing it.

^ This is to ensure the owner of the area doesn't change what the theme thus creating problems like people in apartments losing their apartments and changing stores to homes leaving employees out of a job for a dumb reason.

For the owner of a store/restaurant, they could have a screen that is accessed through a command that allows them to enter supplies needed to make an item (by this I mean putting in minerals from mining into the screen and if the minerals added up are equal to the ammount of minerals to create a handgun, the handgun stocking npc is created). This is useful for discovering items others don't know about, or paying someone from another store to tell you the ingredients for that particular item. The owners of stores can not stock items you'd see in a restaraunt and the owners of restaraunts can not stock items you'd see in a store. The owners of the store/restaurant could drag and drop the positions of the stocker NPCs and the buy NPCs. An NPC run furniture store could be created to bring looks to your store. It could include things like dimmer switches (used to set a seteffect in the level), wall lights (will enable you to also set the color effect of the light), couches, chairs, plants, doors (will enable you to set options. Apartment, which enables the door to be purchased by someone for use of the door, Employee, which gives access to anyone with the tag of your store, and All Access, which explains itself), etc. The door in front of the building could be changed to either Store/Restaraunt (If Store/Restaraunt is clicked, the next two options will be lock and open. If lock is selected, then only the people with the tags of that store could enter), Apartment (always unlocked), and household (lock and unlock options). Of course there'd be a price to pay for the store. It would cost $500 straight cash a week to keep your business/building.

Wow, I got carried away with that idea.
