It is actually difficult to emulate decent rope physics, and unless you have studied to Further Mathematics level (In the UK), you gonna struggle to even attempt the intermediate level, and if you've not studied A-Level mathematics or Physics you wont have a chance (Unless you've done personal studies).

I'm currently toying with the idea of elasticity, which does make it somewhat different, but I'm not aiming to be finished before the closing date set. (More of a personal challenge).

In my personal opinion, I dont think this was the best choice for a challenge as it requires certain areas of mathematics to have been studied, which I know many people wont have. Thats not to take anything away from the ichallenge idea in general though...
