Incorporating pictures into NPCs, experts read.

Ok, I was wondering how people can make an npc like... say you made a horse NPC, but for the horse there's more than one pose stored in the one graphic file. Well how do you seperate the poses when you script? I don't get that. Like if you wanted the horse to go up all the poses around the up pose won't show even though they're all stored in one graphic. Please help.

I hate how in the gani's, when I make the defthing something.gif, it never appears on Graal, only the default movements, not the picture I made, anyone know why?

Dragona2002 05-09-2002 02:39 PM

mavurik just make a gani out of it

and tada ur horse is done.....

Projectshifter 05-09-2002 08:52 PM

actually, in a horse gif, you use: puthorse image,x,y; and it automaticaly seperates the parts and does the gani's and everything for you.

Jeff:

Hate to break it to ya, but that makes a standard horse...not a new one that someone might script k?

Dragona2002 05-09-2002 09:32 PM

doesnt matter it always takes 1 way :o

way 1 : gani's (including the gif though)
way 2 : Just make a gif of a horse and put puthorse in the script
and then rescript it tough ;)

Saga2001 05-09-2002 10:49 PM

I am with ganis because it takes less work on my part...
or puthorse.

make a sprite system, with all the stuff you want in it, then either use setgifpart or use ganis

i prefer the latter
