Help with lag
 

Well it seems that I lag ALOT more on Era than any other server :mad:
Is there a reason for this? Help please! :cry:

Disabling Day/Night effects should help you with lag on the GMAP if you have not done this already. Find the wrench in the top left corner of your screen while on Era. A box will pop up, find the Display and Effects tab, and uncheck Day/Night Effects.

Someone once told me that it may have something to do with their tileset, but i dont get how that would effect my laginess D:

I have 54 mg connection but i get a horrible delay between movement, speech and weapons firing. People can axe me even when im atleast 2 levels away from them D:

Do you have "bursts" of lag? Is it your computer freezing/slowing down, or do players just stop moving for a while?

People stop moving then start moving, it's like they are warping a couple of tiles then freezeing then doing it again, but on Era they freeze for a good couple of seconds before moving again. But sometimes they freeze for atleast 10 seconds and by the time they are moving again I've been axed.....

Oh, we call that being "owned". Its no computer glitch. Unless it ever happens to me.

i assume you tried setting a low screen resolution, and disabling any p2p processes you have running (sometimes they run without you knowing)

Hey I had the same type of lag and people called me modem tapper.

It started occuring 5 years ago when I was a Trial on Atlantis untill... wait I still have it ;)

I know how you feel, I'm getting called "Modem Tapper" 24/7

Anyways I lag too except when I lag its because someone is either pushing or pulling my character, and it isnt little lag its like HUGE lag like I can hardly move, and as soon as they stop I got back to normal.

Didn't they fix "modem tapping"? Pretty sure you get disconnected if Graal looses signal for even a split second.

No I kept losing signal every 2-4 minutes for about 30 seconds.

The only people that believed me that I wasn't modem tapping were Wil and Torque :[

Era used to lag on my old computer, I found that after a while I had to install Graal to a new folder and use that one instead. I think it has to do with Era's reliance on so many NPCs for their overworld.

Every time I loose signal even for a sec, it disconnects me.

I think one of the reason you get more lag on Era is the same reason I do. The server computer for Era is hosted in the US and we live in the UK. Right now I'm getting 164 -190 ms when I ping the server ip.

Aren't all the servers in Paris?

people don't realize that some may not have access to high speed interwebz.

Unholy Nations and Era are hosted in the US. You can tell because the ip address for Unholy Nations and Era is 208.101.22.228 and the ip for the server Zodiac is hosted on is 194.5.30.18 which is located in Paris.

I actually can play WoW flawless, also download with 500 KB/s, I blame Graal!
