Player house feature

The possibility to look trough the window of player houses into the house, without beeing actually inside the house or any possiblity inside the house for the nosy, except a right click option to see item specific stats.

The true location of the character would still be outside of the house, but the view is focused into the house.

Not everyone wants to have anyone being able to have a look into their house. So the houseowner could have the possibility to either simply restrict the option for others to look through the house windows, or, to give it a house furnishing aspect, a few different styled craftable curtains for house customization.

Wouldn't exactly be easy to script, and it'd be annoying anyway.

What is wrong with just a screenshot of the house?

Trying to pass off all the items to be worth selling and the containers to hide items of some value.

On the one hand it would be very advantageous, selling large amounts of items, whole houses with content, or even a complete arranged house, while the items are secure.

On the other hand, many players seem to enjoy their house customization prospects. Else they wouldn't share screenshots of the custom houses on the forum whenever they find a chance to. Those peoples probably want to show the rest their interior decorator comforts, and via screenshot on the forum the stuff inside the house is secure, having this ingame featured is probably a better solution than screenshots on the forum.

If this could be done anyway, I'd suggest being able to 'grab' the windows and looking inside the house(basically warping the player invisibly). Could counter this by adding window shutters and such that the owner can open/close.

It could maybe be done so you could 'open' your windows for other people to view in, but as stated, it would be quite complex to script and not exactly top on our list of things to do. :)

That is what I've ment with adding different styled craftable curtains, a window shutter wouldn't quite fit into the preconceived age of GK. But this involve graphical designing so a simple yes/ no option could do it as first. Just to have the possibility to counter if it isn't desired.

Well, if this idea does get implemented, it will be at a time, when im not on the server anymore. Regardless, it could be a nice option so I gave the suggestion anyhow.

Err... window shutters are pretty damn old. I'm pretty sure it was something medieval houses had.

Well thats six of one, half a dozen of the other, both would serve the same purpose. I personally sense curtains to fit better than shutters.

Time and effort to script is much greater than the potential of it's use. So why waste the time making a feature that's only going get used a couple times?

I don't believe barrels are that complicated compared to this house viewing script. ;)

I think containers are basically all the same just with different aspects such as weight limit, image, and actual weight.
Also if this feature was ever added I would block every window, I wouldn't want people to be able to look in my house and see what things i have in there.
