Scripting

Who can learn me script ^^?

pez307 08-02-2009 10:56 AM

Search the internet about scripting. If you type exactly the write words in the search bar then you'll get infomation about Scripting.

It helps if you start editing scripts and fixing scripts to get the just of whats going on and where the error is.

You're in the NGRT so high chance you're not talking about GScript. What languages are you interested in? There is no global scripting language.

To script anything, there are several languages.
To be able to script you must be quite serious, logic in everything you do and learn a maximum of things. It requires work, a lot of work.

Each language is different and has it's own use
Graal has it's own scripting engine, based on some other ones like C/C++

Quick exemple of languages:

PHP: Mostly used for websites to create dynamic web pages, using a server.
Javascript: Used for interactive web pages, like flash animations, flash games, etc...
XML (eXtensible Markup Language)
C/C++
HTML
CSS

and many more...those are the most famous.

Now depending on what you want to do, you choose the language you need and learn it by your own, or look for a website that could teach you, I'm sure there are some.

HTML and CSS are not scripting languages.

I've talked to Zorinkelpekem and am referring him to the scripting forum. My understanding is that he wants to learn GScript so he can script on Graal, and that he wants a teacher. Because of that, I'll move this to the scripting forum. Zorinkelpekem has no knowledge of scripting, and should then see these threads: You can also get access to NC on the Testbed Server.

Make sure you use correct usage while scripting (like using the command "rawr" instead of "rawre", which are examples and not real).

HTML and CSS are formatting languages.

Soala 08-02-2009 08:56 PM

That isn't true at all, HTML and CSS are used to format web pages not to use fancy controls and other website features.

HTML -> Hypertext Markup Language

HTML and CSS can be seen as ways to sketch out or draw a design using words. They are neither scripting nor programming languages.

K' Right, HTML/CSS != scripting/programming language
HTML/CSS = development languages

...?

ActionScript is used for Flash. Javascript is used for dynamic webpages, but not for Flash. Flash is embedded in the page, similar to how a movie or Java applet would be.
