So what do you think of this?

Also what do you think of the present?

the present lacks shading, because the top is just as bright as the side, it doesn't look like theres a different angle, the sword is way too small.
also try not to copy paste stuff, the right side is the exact opposite as the left side of the present, for lines this is okay, but not for shading or texture.

please don't take this as bad critics, im just saying what i think needs improvement.

Unkownsoldier 06-07-2009 05:16 PM

I re-copied it because on the white background you could not see the lines, and too small for what? Ever look at a grailians body or even their hand this is the perfect size all of the other swords in graal are un-realistic. I can understand on the present, however I would have to disagree with your other accusations but thank you for the criticism.

Maybe swords in graal are un-realistic (not so much on GK by the way) but I think you should still THINK about how you HANDLE a sword
You can oversize the blade if you want, but please dont make crazy handles like this one, just think about how it would get into your hand :/

Other than that nice blade, you should darken it a bit I think.

Unkownsoldier 06-07-2009 11:35 PM

Look at a graal hand and then my handle, copy the hand and put it over the handle and you will see it is perfect size for a one handed sword.

you only asked for our opinions, and then you're going against them, now i don't really mind, but i mean that doesn't make alot of sense.

The reason graal weapons are usually oversized is the fact that you can't get enough detail in them and make them look good if they're the "right" size.

I like the blade, however it looks awkward to grasp. Play with the handle a bit.

I think they're on the level of Zodiac GFXs

I didn't say it was the WRONG SIZE.
If you could read what I said and just think you'd understand that I told you the way you actually can handle it is too hard.

There is no way you can fight with a sword having spikes that would hurt you when you use it !
Just think about a battle with it, maybe you can handle the sword, but using it would hurt you soon enough.
Just cut it and stop with details or design with a crazy bottom, and let the hand its space. =/

Those aren't spikes, Why do you think I made them have an arch, so your hand would be able to fit into the hole.

Just think when you are actually done swinging, where does the sword goes ?
You arm need to stand away from your body or else it'll touch.

Oh well, do whatever you want, keep making weapons for zodiac that every single player enjoy.

If you wanted a "hole" to put your hand in (presumably for protection), you'd use something with a basket hilt or a just bigg(er) crossguard. Anything under the hand would just get in the way, unless you're holding the sword exactly perpendicular to your hand. You're sacrificing necessary mobility for little to no protection. And assuming it didn't get in the way, it would make the sword awkward to swing. No pommel means no balance.

And it's ugly.
