Player Services Admin vs. Developmental Admin (Reopened)
This thread is reopened for informational and clearance purposes. This is to inform you all of the jobs of our main Administrators so that you may know who to speak to on certain issues, also to clarify any misinterpretations of the specifoc positions.
Feel free to comment, share opinions on any portion of this to further assist the knowledge base of this matter. Player Services Admin - This position is a main administrative position, incharge of all the Player-Related and Mid-Game Administrators. He may overrule any of those Admins and has the final, second to the Manager. Control of Administrators such as: Gang and Business Admin, GP Chief, Events Team Admin, FAQ Admin and (Originally) Gun Admin. Developmental Admin: Incharge of all developmental projects, staff and etc. Orchestrates and has the final word on Developmental changes, next to Manager. Ex. GMAP Updates and etc. Controls : LAT Admin, GAT Admin, GFX Admin, NAT Admin, Developer Admin. For some odd reason, took control of Guns Admin. All in all, they are both balanced and incharge of positions that pertain to their qualifications. PSA and positions under need no developmental abilities but need knowledge and experience of the game in the aspect they are chosen. Developmental Admin and positions under need little to no experience or knowledge of game, only require developmental skill in assigned profession (s). |
You sure speak a lot for someone who has absolutely no idea how Era is run right now.
I cannot say whether you are right or wrong. No one knows. There is no clear-cut "job description" for a development admin. After being promoted, I was never given a list of duties. My job, the way I see it, is to ensure that development happens on Era. Development, in other words, means content. This includes guns and gangs. The reason your guns were "nerfed" was to prevent you from selling them for a huge profit before Masa had a chance to tamper with them. I've already told you that Masa will take a second look and change them as he sees fit. This is honestly not the most demanding job I've ever held, though I do feel like I am responsible for many things. I've made mistakes, especially after being first hired; I openly acknowledge that. Anyone would. I don't think there's a person on the high staff team who can claim never having messed up on Era. However, I do not feel I am making a mistake by what I am doing now for Era. Both Masa and Daz are extremely busy in real life right now, especially Daz (with his child coming). There is nothing wrong, in my views, with stepping up to fill certain parts of their positions while they are away. You certainly would have no problem with me updating one of the gang leader "clones" in the gang bases, would you, regardless of the fact that this would normally be handled by someone else? Player services, from my understanding, means dealing with players. Jailings, bannings, events, non-dev staff. That's all Squirt's area. Even certain things with gangs or businesses can be placed there, but I do not place the actual development of these gangs or businesses in this category. As I just said, jailings/bannings are player services. Does this mean I'm going outside of my "duties" when I punish someone for breaking the rules? I don't think so. Aside from being the development administrator, I'm also an administrator. Many of your arguments are like saying that it is not the duty of the manager to ban or jail someone, it should only be the PSA doing this. The manager should manage the staff (or whatever you think a manager should do). This simply isn't true, so stop saying it. To recap what I already said, I have no job description. I have no clean-cut duties, only some that I have set for myself. There's no point in trying to say what my duties are when I really have none. You need to stop comparing me to former Development Administrators. The staff setup was extremely different then that it is now. On that note, I will not be making any other posts in this thread. |

Anyways, my opinion on the PSA position is pretty much the same as Guns Admin. They were both created for political reasons instead of as a way to help the server. Personally, I think that on any server, the GP Admin, LAT Admin, GFX Admin, etc should be reporting directly to the Manager and his/her Asst. Manager. |
First of all, in my initial statement, I stated that the Manager is second to none and both Admins are second to him.
You keep claiming this Administration is setup sooooooo much differently, yet everything looks the exact same to me, everytime I spoke with Deophite or Squirt about the team, same terminologies and understanding was used between me and them, therefore I highly doubt your claim to be "different". Second of all, if your job was Server Administrator, you'd have been najed Server Administrator, instead its Developmental Administrator. The definition of that was as I stated, stop trying to use wordplay to tweak meanings into your benefit. All this time you've been arguing what jobs were developmental and what wasn't, and now all the sudden it changes? Squirt is your equal opposite, he manages half, you manage the other half. He is not less than you, if you say you have the right to do everything, that means he has the rights to the same meaning he can mess with Development and Developmental Staff as he pleases. We all know thats not the case because both your jobs were specifically named and given boundaries, you're trying justify the stepping over of your boundaries by saying its unlimited. Also, your nerfing of the guns did nothing, an UMP is worth a million or more. FN Mark is worth over 4 million and Angels are 350,000$ each. Gun Prices are done due to their rarity and X-Factor, regardless of their stats. Basically, you just handed me a means of scamming if I cared much about money or items. I was offered Shipka once FN Mark. Even today, a DR. The price will never drop because a player who buys it will never sell it for less than he paid because thay costs. All the more reason to give it stats to match its cost, rarity and price. Due to the fact that you didn't foresee this, just adds one more reason for you NOT to touch guns. Also, Vulcan apparently he says setting gun stats, taglocking and untaglocking is so developmental. rofl, Squirt didn't even contest it, ha. Poor fella loses so much power and does nothing. |
wow no1 wants a life story

I realllly wish you'd stop arguing over something you know nothing about. It's clear that you don't like Chris because you can't manipulate him like you could with a lot of the previous staff. Tough ****, grow up...you can't always get what you want.
You are completely wrong about his duties. There is no solid line between dev and player services...a lot of the time, things fall under BOTH categories. Squirt and Chris usually work together anyways, so although Chris may be the one making changes, Squirt knows about them. |
Oh, I seem to have struck a nerve. No one seems to defend Chris Vimes but his inderlings, cute.
Anywho, Sales you're a hypocrite. Before being hired your opinions of this staff team were all relative to incompetent, now all the sudden you're hired and their competence level is risen? Ha. And you expect to be taken seriously? Wipe those tears boy, and listen up. I don't manipulate, I insinuate and propose using pure appeal to logos a.k.a logic. There's no sense in trying to pretend like what I say is invalid because of childish reasons, logically, realostically... I'm right, I wouldn't argue if I weren't. Squirt half the time has no idea of Chris' actions, like I'll point out again, his job obviously has limitations if he's DEFINED as the Developmental Admin. I know he's the one person your whimsy ideas actually get through to, but those are the facts. He's not omnipotent, because he's not omniscient. <- Haha, funny huh? |

Oh, so apparently these guys are more competent than Angel or her team? Oh, god. Don't even bother stating anything about how "competent" you guys are again, its like pulling ass, out of your ass.
As for you being down that road, you were bound by those limits because back then the people in charge paid attention. You are enthusiastic about the lack of enforcement on boundaries on that position so you start shouting whay WASNT, but you think should've been. Thats the just of it, as of Chris Vimes doing a fine job, now THAT IS A STATEMENT I SELDOM HERE. Only heard from you and his other underlings, lol. As for people knowing more than me... you have GOT to be kidding me, rofl. I'll ignore that statement seeing as it was just made random, out of spite. |
As if this entire thread isn't out of spite.
I could sit here and nitpick at all of your posts, but that's just too easy and is getting quite old. If you have a problem with an administrator/staff member, I suggest you take it up with the manager or even the support center. Posting here is getting you nowhere. |
It isn't, I'm an Arsonist, I like fire. If you'd pay attention likeca smart little boy instead of assuming you know my intents, you'd learn more. I don't know why you even do that, its quite frankly old as you said. Not to mention you're wrong all of the time. Its like America and Voting George Bush.
You act as if you don't know me... if I want something done, I go get it done the fastest and most efficient way possible, so save your idiotic suggestions that normally follow your primative and naive assumptions. |

wil you should just give up. you're not going to get anywhere.

Just my opinion. :] |
Sam, Name obviously can't read.... didn't read the initial statement nor the previous, I'll ignore him to save him the trouble of looking like a usual (youknow).
And Frankie, I didn't make this thread with a specific goal but for Information, like I initially stated. Except, wasn't to inform, but rather for me to get informed on how Chris Vimes and other staff "view" the two positions. Seeing as if I straightforward asked, I'd get no response... this is just another method I took. Sadly, I only got insight from two... but hey, better than nothing and the thread is still goin'. |
