You should use a new name for the server.
I loved old delteria, and I really don't want the new one to spoil old nastolgia.
It's hard to call the new place Delteria when it honestly isn't. I've heard the new stuff is great but honestly. Either that or give me old delteria level files. |
I don't see 'Delteria' revolving around the server content itself. I personally think that the community is what makes 'Delteria', and a lot of the oldbies currently work on Delteria, pay a visit from time to time, or keep in touch via their forums. You'll be amazed at who returns when the new project is finished.

Nah. The name "Delteria" is awesome.

I wouldn't mind if new Delteria only gets around 30 stable players, as long as they're the oldschool players. Delterians are what made Delteria just that, right?

1. delteria 8 up, 1 down love it hate it
Delteria originates from an online community in 1996. The Delteria was an extremely elitist group of website hackers, whose purpose was to plague the sugarcoated parts of the Internet. Focused on bringing pornographic and inappropriate material into business and entertainment sites, the Delteria contaminated site by site. Eventually, the hackers of the Delteria became uninterested in continuing their notorious hobby of hacking and were led into the life of online gaming. In gaming, the members of the Delteria became known through their hidden and subtle ways of abusing and cheating. It is unknown if any members of the original Delteria still continue to hack or even explore the internet. The lack of the Delteria's popularity and prescence is majorly due to the fact that they never hacked into any large companies or foundations. Also, the group of hackers never officially named themselves until their days of gaming. 'The Delteria just hacked into my online information thesis about docile pandas!' - Wayne Camrhyne, 1998 |

I have level packs for delteria dating back to its original release back in november of 2000. I've thought about uploading some old content for people to play around in until the release, but it would be more work than its worth due to certain system scripts restricting access to kaljun port town. This doesn't mean, however, that the old levels will not be seen on the server ever again. I haven't talked to any of the staff about this, but I would like to put in some stupid pk events using barion/tahan from the first and second generation server levels. Also, depending on how the majority of the administration feels, I would like to at some point put up portals to extremely limited areas of the old overworld.
Like I said, I haven't even mentioned this to the upper level staff yet, so don't expect it to happen, but there is always a chance for it to happen for anybody who is looking to idle in barion while grabbing a light post. Personally delteria was never about content to me, although spar arena designs and a lot of events that originated on delteria became the norm for all servers, I think the main drawing point of delteria was the community of elitest *******s who always entertained people with their giant ego wars. I can't guarantee a come back of most of the older players that entertained us all so many years ago, but expect to see at least a few names of people you used to see every day for years until delteria slowly died off. Also expect some amazing new content that will be easy on the eyes and extremely fun to play. Delteria used to be all about catering to the small community of elitests and staff members, but we hope to turn that around and start trying to cater to you, the players, offering many fun events, quests, and other content that I will let cloven and other admins announce when they feel ready. |
