Some things i'm working on...
Not going to post full level screens, or those without the use of light effects, just looking for some opinions on my use of tiles in these levels.

You should add them as attachments, I'm not really digging the rays of light. I like the last one the best besides the pond at the bottom.

They're not even popping up on my screen, so like luda said, post them as attachments.

I infer that your levels are part of a forest, and as such, would expect players to walk through them. Under that provision, the biggest problem I see with your levels is your use of mushrooms. In the real world, mushrooms would not stop a person from walking over them, but in Graal, on the pics1.png and similar tilesets, mushrooms are placed on tiles that block players. When such is the case, you should refrain from placing them (blocking mushrooms) in the middle of walkways and areas that might see a lot of player traffic.
While I think they would fit nicely with the tone of the level, you should try to keep them far off to the side (next to the trees) to avoid blocking problems. I found your grass-grass layering around the center of your first level a bit too linear. I suggest using more diagonal pathing as you did near the top of the first level and in the other two levels. In some of the levels, you also use the thick grass/weed tiles (the two tiles usually found at the top-left of the tile board. While you can cut them in half and use them to occupy a single tile, I think they look best and you should try to use them intact as a 2x1 tile (as you did in the bottom left of your first level). I think your water detailing in the bottom part of the last level could use some work. Brief suggestions include not linearizing the grass-water edging, adding another layer of shallow water tiles before using deep water tiles, and not using 8 of the same tile in a vertical line (that shallow water tile that is based off a dirt tiles from pics1.png) - try using a variety of shallow water tiles and not dividing the two deep water sections with a straight line. Lastly, while I think the light rays look nice, I do not think they are appropriate in these levels. To me, their use seems awkward because you can already see the tops of the trees, so there should be nothing filtering the sun except clouds, in which case your levels should not be as dark as they are. They (the light rays) would be better suited for a level where the tops of the trees are not visible. |
I just love those levels !

Hmm... I'm not particularly fond of them, but I think it's the 'Delteria' style that turns me off. The rainbow of colors throughout the whole level just rubs me the wrong way.
The joining of the trees makes me think caves, but that's not your fault. The rays add nothing, and just don't look natural. Besides being the same size, they just don't end up looking like rays of light falling through the canopy. Also, you might want to consider giving them a dull, yellow tint instead of pure white. |
They seem a bit... straight and stuff.
Also, as I've been ranting on about purpose and/or direction lately, you've done that but.. blocked the way with mushrooms D: Assuming they're blocking. |
They appear on my screen now ^-^ They look lovely and colorful. Although like Vega said if this is for players to walk the mushrooms will anger them and they will get annoyed as well. The level detail is.... odd, but not bad. Its a nice style but its not amazing. Also the bottom level with with the regular water is waaaay to square/straight. You should have some curves and such. All in all these levels look very nice and I like them. Also if I may ask what tileset is this? It really just makes me think of something tropical.
Edit:Found the tileset. It looks very complicated to use. |
To clear up the whole mushroom deal, they don't block on the Delteria tileset. >_<
edit: In the first screen shot it's really weird what you did with the tree's in the middle. I'm not sure if I like it or not. But it does tile! |
I prefer the ones with water. Perhaps the whole area should be some sort of swamp/water area rather than dirt paths!

I like the work a lot :)

I love them
