Who broke Era?
 

Everybody's "1" key seems to be stuck. Only a scattered few can spar real spars anymore and the majority spend their time contemplating which wall or door would be the best to use in combination with strafe. That, or they're begging or working to get money so they can get a gun that does x to the power of infinity damage and sprays y bullets at a z rate of fire which home into the target and then split into smaller bullets that do 2x damage.

Somebody fix it - it was fine before Jenn redid it.

Edit: Please note, the gun detailed above is not an actual gun, I'm just using exaggeration to show how ridiculous some of the guns are these days.

I don't understand- how should it be?

In all honesty, I'm not really saying It's broken more remembering how it used to be when gangs had huge amounts of competition, players main weapons weren't their ability to strafe and the nearest wall and all guns were somewhat equal except for small details such as Uzi's spread and AK's accuracy.

Nowadays, it is like you read above. Spars are boring and repetitive as everybody instantly faces their opponent, hits 1 and strafes back and forth spraying the whole time, gangs rarely raid and guns do ridiculous amounts of damage and have rediculous features (I swear I saw a gun that spreads 6+ bullets out in a line and does 24 damage; atleast you only take damage for one of those 6.)

I'm just saying I'd like to see some degree of how Era used to be. If not with the playerbase (obviously many of the old players have quit), but with gangs having more of a reason to compete and guns having less of a stat gap between the expensive and the less expensive.

I know quite a few people that spar without straffing you just need to spar better people, also all the guns are within similar stat ranges.

I know there are people who spar without strafing, I'm just stating that there's far fewer than there used to be.

And from what I've seen so far some guns seem blatantly more powerful than others. I could be wrong though.

Oh, you're not wrong. Era's been on a steady progression of being item-based rather than skill based. Does skill still count? Of course. But not nearly as much. It's so easy to spam bullets and just wall. Too many players never have had to learn how to actually spar/PK, because their guns do the work for them.

there's nothing wrong with strafing in my opinion. a lot of sparring is wall laming these days, but it's not an instant lose if someone starts wall laming you. don't bait into it like an idiot and you won't get lamed. learn to fight from the top if anything.
