Zorbi: To be or not to be.

The question is debateable. I'm for choice, Pojo is for Zorbi.

While I admit that Zormite is supposed to be a kingdom of Zorbi, the official plot of the server dictates that when the asteroid hit people were chased to the kingdom islands. Which means that humans DID COME to Zormite from the mainland.

I say that the Zorbi welcomed the humans and peaceful coexistance began. [Personally, I'd skip the ingame drama and just take Princess Ruto for a wife if I could dodge the whole legal copyright crud.]

Therefore, I believe there is an established, legitimate RP reason for players to have a choice between being a Zorbi or a human.

Most of you should be Zorbis, or at least the king (yeah, you).

I'm not even in Zormite.

My problem is, not a single one of you are Zorbis, and the majority of your members (like 2 people) don't even know what Zormite is, save for Googi and Oda, who don't really count because they've been there the whole time. I don't see a problem with human characters in Zormite; I tolerated it, Pat tolerated it, and practically everyone before us tolerated it. I do see a problem with it being all human with maybe 2 Zormites/Zorbis. That tiny bit of uniqueness Zormite had is gone, there's nothing that really sets it apart now. Why did the isolationist race that founded the kingdom become the minority?

I could do a massive "Zorbi's were getting pwned by monsters until the humans came and saved them."

But, you do have a point. We could use more Zorbis in the kingdom. But a major criticism of the island is the fish people accusation. I still want to give players a choice, and what's wrong with a human seizing kingship and ruling through evil secret necromantic powers and ruling as a wise and benevolent ruler while advancing his secret plans?

C'mon, I can RP this stuff out given the opportunity.

Though he still has a good point. Guys, consider going Zorbi.

That's all well and good, but Zormites should always be the majority of Zormite. Otherwise it would be like the Zorbis suddenly ruling Forest. Sure, you could RP it out, but it's still illogical.

So help the numbers by being a Zorbi in Zormite.

How was Zormite ever "isolationist"?

I tried that, it wasn't too much fun.

My bad, wrong word I guess. Xenophobic, going by that Graal Bible entry, although you'd think a xenophobic race would be isolationist too.

Leaving for political reasons doesn't accomplish much if you don't say what the political reasons are.

That's just something Zurkiba made up because he wanted to retcon Zormite's history in order to justify banning non-Zorbi from the kingdom. In the past there was a rule that kingdom members had to use Zorbi or Sahuagin characters (On 2K1, Bomys were also allowed). This rule didn't create a problem when it came to getting members on 2K1, because there were plenty of available Zorbi heads of pretty good quality that went well with the available bodies (the outfit saver NPC weapon helped too). The rule was eventually abolished on GK because there weren't nearly as many Zorbi heads available and they go poorly with the available bodies, so people didn't want to be limited to using them.

Racial rhetoric was never really part of Zormite RP. Zormite allied with human kingdoms all the time and when going to war with another kingdom, we'd generally talk about crimes we were accusing said kingdom of committing or how there was advantage for Zormite in the war. People just never really thought to invoke racial reasons.

Zormite has had human leadership for a while now, but I would enjoy some more fishies in the sea.
