What Video Format do you use?

I currently use avi (uncompressed) because it makes the video look nice an "viewable".

I'm wondering because when I upload my videos to youtube it takes hours to upload... right now I'm uploading that lasts around 1-2 minutes and after 3 hours its only 20 percent :(.

also, how many frames per second?

Most people (virtually everyone) reformats their videos before uploading the YouTube.

AVI files (which is mostly a generic format) are lossless yet uncompressed. You should use a format that is lossless or near lossless, but is compressed far better (suggestions: MPEG-4 [not Graal's MP4] or H.264, the latter being completely awesome).

I like H.264 too.

Actually if you want a high quality video, put on the maximum record frames per second.

I use AVI most of time, but I don't really record videos on graal.

As Chris said, you should reformat your video before uploading it to a website like youtube.

Just look for a program on google, you should find some for free.

a program to change the format? can I do it with Windows Movie maker?

Soala 04-23-2009 03:20 AM

Yeah but it isn't the best solution.

Just type "free video converter" on google, there is actually a program named this way =)
I didn't try it but anyway, with windows movie maker you could still open your video with it and save it under another format, compressed, so it would be faster to upload over youtube.

omgomgomg. took like 5 seconds to upload!!!

check it out

a million ++reps to Chris and Soala <3. to the people who helped on the other thread too.

Looks decent, but a few suggestions.

Try to stretch your video to 1280x720 with a decent codec (MP4 or H.264 is preferred) and upload it (from the original video you took using Graal, not the one you used to upload).

It'll be larger, but if you do it right, it will be in HD, and look something more like this (click the video twice, then click the "HD" button"):

Also, you might want to zoom in a bit so people can see what is happening better. You can do this in almost any video editor (though Windows Movie Maker is pretty limited, I'm not quite sure if it can or not) or in Graal's options.

=O, I still have lots to learn :).

Bear in mind that AVI is a video container format, it is not a video codec.

I use avi (MPEG4) because I've the only format that I can get to work on my system. I would use videos more on graal if the time was not limited to 58 seconds.
