A Common Misconception

Here is a common misconception that I really want to make clear to everyone:

"If I upgrade my account, I will lose my lifetime classic subscription."
WRONG. YOU WILL NOT LOSE LIFETIME CLASSIC.

If you have a lifetime classic subscription and you upgrade your account, your lifetime classic will still be there when your gold runs out.

Additionally, the only reason your lifetime classic would get removed is if you need to get your email changed and you don't have gold on your account. The only way to change your email is through the support center and the administrators will verify that you're sure you want to lose your lifetime classic before continuing with the email change.

I guess this is another misconception: I was under the impression that any email change results in the loss of lifetime classic. But, as long as I have some type of gold on my account, I won't lose lifetime classic if I have my email changed?

That's correct.

I will try to explain this in as simplest terms as possible.

1. Anyone with a gold account can change their email without loss of lifetime. You may need to provide ownership documentation though.

2. Lifetime will NEVER be removed until you are asked if you are sure you want it removed and you say yes. Even though the support ticket request asks you, it will always be confirmed again by myself or Stefan before removing it.

3. Its perfectly safe to upgrade your Classic account to gold in order to do an email change and retain lifetime status.

4. Removal of lifetime is never done automatically. Its something that has to be manually done by Stefan.

5. Any other questions, please ask me. Do not assume the worst.

why do you lose lifetime classic if you change your email?

Excuses to remove lifetime Classic.

Bell 04-07-2009 08:08 PM

I think Ibonic explained it quite well here.

They are spending time with changing your email address, and time is money.
And money is something people with lifetime classic don't spend on graal.

I don't think you can demand a free repair on your car, years after you have bought it.

In most cases this is after the car has been sold several times over too :p

People are still having this problem?

grim_squeaker_x 04-07-2009 09:01 PM

Oh, I might upgrade to gold to change my email then, lol. :P

Sorry, I guess, so far you didn't get in touch with real business?
Why should anyone do anything when there is no profit in sight.

Out of security measures, it's quite good that you can't change your email address by yourself as this would make a total account and money theft very easy.
This means, graalonline has to use manpower if you wan't your email changed. They have to check if everything is righteous, change your emails, have business contact with you.

If you don't plan to ever pay again, why should they follow all these steps and do all these actions? Would you do it?

Time is not money for the globals. As a matter of fact they would be wasting more "money" removing your classic subscription as only Stefan can do it, while (I think) Bell and possibly other globals can change your e-mail.

People with liftetime classic are giving this game some life, if you were to hypothetically remove every lifetime classic user, do you think people would upgrade to play in a ghost town?

Oh, and yes you can. It's called warranty and depending on the damage you can sometimes be completely covered.

Get something worth upgrading for instead of charging for basic customer services.
