This isn't pixel art :O

Also, why is the top of the can red? Looks good though.

Clockwork 04-06-2009 07:39 PM

So you designed and did everything on those pictures eh?

Redwiz 04-06-2009 09:42 PM

Clockwork :

Saying I designed everything would be unfair. E.g. The coca Cola logo was obviously designed by someone years and years and years before my birth, but I did recreate it if that's what you mean. Everything in the tank however is designed and created 100% by me. I took several photos of metal panels and merged them and worked it from there, yes the cross is also created by me.
As the can is meant to be a re-creation and not neccasarily a redesign, it was important that I only needed to get the modelling accurate.

Luda :

You're right, it isn;t pixel art (: I used to do that for Graal several years ago. Everything seems to be going in every different direction these days but one thing is commonplace - the 3D development. I guess we have to sink or swim with graphic design these days, so I decided to learn 3D too. I don't know what you mean by the top of the can beign red; but it is reflecting an environment around it. Maybe thats what's tinting it?

Fragman : That's not fair; I admire Elks work.

Elk : Student edition of 3DS Max 8. I can Ill afford the full license, but the student one is far cheaper :) Full program, but it's non commercial distribution of work only.

Crono : I'm glad you think so! :D

Trifle :

3DS Max :)

alexandralove :

Haha ! That's what I'm goin for with the soda ! :)

Codein :

Thankyou, your comments are Appreciated :)

Luda 04-06-2009 09:56 PM

Yeah it must be the reflection :o

Here are some textures created which are / will be used in the tank process,

Tom 04-06-2009 10:20 PM

Really nice work dude, cant wait to see that tank finished ^-^

alarid0 04-06-2009 10:32 PM

Wow, I'm not used to seeing work like this here :)

You should have known already that you wouldn't be getting any sort of c&c here, just praise. Excellent work on both. You pieced together the textures? They work prefectly with your model, bravo. How long have you been working hard in 3d media? If I remember right you did a bit of it years ago, but how long have you been really cracking away at it?

Redwiz 04-06-2009 10:43 PM

about 1 and a half years properly :) thanks Alarid. These forums believe it or not are the most active I'm a member of, I am also a member of the CGTalk forums and 3D World and Autodesk but they get maybe one or two views a day and a comment a week if lucky at best.
