If anyone remembers the now-anceint Playerwold, Shaded Legend, then this is for you! If anyone does not remember, then this is for you. If anyone hasn't even played Graal Online before, then this is for you. If you Aunt borrowed your car and backed out of your driveway and hit your mailbox and scraped your month-old car and you just want to go off on a pk-spree, then this is for you.

The most electrifying server of Graal's past, present, and soon-to-be future is coming out of it's several-year-slumber, and rushing towards your monitor!


If anyone of significant involvement correlating with the origination and manifestation of Shaded Legend has any dismissive distress(es) surrounding this revival, I urge you to verbalize your concerns.

I used to play this server, in fact I used to even be staff on this server. I never heard from anyone that it was coming back though. When it tried to be released again Contego was manager, is he still working on it, or do you have a new team?

I think there is slightly more success to be had of taking the ideas and perhaps even outright copying quests and certain elements of a previous playerworld, repackaging it and building upon it than there is in taking an old server and adding to it.

Somehow, I have more hope for a new world suplemented with old content than an old world suplemented with new content. Although this may seem to make little sense!

I miss SL, I also miss Old Classic and Maloria.

I couldn't agree with you more. There are reasons servers aren't around anymore, yet surely you might agree that some of the servers that are still around -- shouldn't be... Or at least not without some minor touch-ups or perhaps even a few touch-backs.

Yes, knightfire, I loved this server so much, too. I've put quite a bit of time into this project so far, but I do want for it to be more of it's original state, as that was the form of the server which the bulk of us had grown to love.

I'm quite sure there will be even more waterfalls than you remember, and you can swim in them as long as you fancy! Who know's, there may even be a waterfall quest.

Thank you for wishing me luck! It hasn't been mentioned until my post because I was confirming that permission would get cleared prior to taking on such a huge, yet fun task. I remember Contego well, but as far as I know, I haven't spoken with him in years!

As far as the "new team" is concerned, once the server goes online in development, I will by then already have full applications available to all persons wishing to assist with this project.

NOTE: Until the server goes "Hosted", I have no desire in seeking GP / PR / FAQ / ET / etc.. I will be seeking all forms of developmental staff, however.

Unfortunately, I am not that nice. :P Whatever items someone previously had, whether it was money or whatever, I am not here to provide backups to inventories for anyone. So if there is an item you obtained x amount of years ago, well, hopefully you'll remember what you did to receive it, and do it again. Sorry. ^_^

Spark, long time no see! I remember when you first got hired! Now you've Graduated from the PWA Admin's School, moved on, and returned to post in this topic! I am humbled by your post, and yes, I agree with you about your playerworld ideology, but I also feel that a blend of both could do nicely. But as previously mentioned, the old server is what everyone has grown to love, so the plan is to not stray away from that fact.

SL is beyond Zygote. It's getting closer.

There is no current name for it just yet. You'll know it when you see it, but it's not ready to get online just yet.

Okay, I just skimmed through the posts and I didn't see anyone ask the very obvious question; "How is SL changing to keep up with the current playerworlds?" I remember SL quite well, it was in the rotation of servers I played regularly. I would love for it to make a return but unless it changes in some major way it will follow the same path SL did years before.

Or every other time they tried to make a "comeback".

first off do u even have the back up for it last time it was online second off u got a team if u don't have a nat then dont try

Usually backups can be obtained from Stefan, so not a massive issue.

He has his own backup already.

I used to be a PR there it was pretty cool.

I was a developer there from time to time with TtTackler? I think his name was. This server does not have potential due to the new standards that playerworlds have set now a days. The New scripting engine is based off a Heavily Modified Torque(GS2) while SL still lingers on GS1. Even though Stefan claimed they would be backwards compatible but there obviously not. Not only has the scripting syntax changed, but the level standards have changed as well. With players like Crono and Wan lurking around you would sure have to create a new world to even try to compete with there amazing talent. So that leaves with making fresh scripts and a new world. Why not keep the same name with the same concept and a New Development Aspect?

Just found this thread on a whim by searching Google. I suppose I'm slightly curious as to how you plan to recreate the server. The driving force then was to create a fun single-player, quest-driven storyline with plenty of PvP instances and World-PvP [with melee weapons and magic] to supplement that. Granted, I never fully achieved that then, and I have no idea what the state of this game is in the present.

strange i found this the same way tack did , but not surprising . i thought it was pretty clear when i had it take down tho that sl was dead and it couldnt be revived , not saying you should try or anything . but it's dead and burried , let it rest in peace . i mean there's no use digging up the corpse and slapping it around a bit . so who's is doing this ?

I played SL. I can think of a lot of adjectives that describe it, but "electrifying" isn't one of them.

so how do we go about getting this ball rolling ? Please don't say the ticket support thing , i tryed that for years when i had gold and it never got me anywhere . Anyways the only people that have rights to the server are me , Ben , James , Tackler , Contego , Arch Angel and other people that have managed the server before . pokeSMOT = no rights to server . you should talk to the server owners before attempting to remake it . no offence intended but it's the way thing's work with graal servers .
