I'm surprised no one has posted about this server yet. I played around the other day when it had a silent release to the hosted tab and as far as servers go it is pretty cool. The name isn't very good, but I guess that is part of the servers identify.

It is kind of confusing when you first log on to the server; you're randomly placed in the middle of nowhere with areas that look strange in character. For someone like myself who always tries to link themes with common settings, I struggled to understand what kind of place I was playing on. After discovering the blue highlighted roads and the hovercrafts however, it seemed that the server was just another generic modern/futuristic server with the common setting going on. It was mainly due to the tileset that I didn't really see any potential for the server when I first logged on. The graphics are highly influenced by servers such as Era and I think that kind of lets it down a little, removing its credibility as an individual. It was only due to boredom that I stuck around and explored a little, because servers like Era don't usually interest me anyway, and I'm glad I did.

Albeit the overall gameplay seems to be common, I really enjoyed the fresh ideas it brought to content such as jobs. The whac-a-mole minigame was the first real difference that I seen and I must admit it was amusing. The diving for fish was just hilarious, though I was kind of annoyed you did side scrolling for diving cuz doing it myself :(. On top of the original jobs I really appreciated how the staff have actively used methods of helping the players with easy instructions. The fact that the instructions themselves are not messing with the third wall directly from NPC characters didn't go unnoticed and is very welcomed also, although it is pretty glitchy at the moment.

I did have fun for a while, but a lot of things really got on my nerves and you should probably have needed to fix these before you reached the Hosted tab. The server backstory wasn't introduced very well and although I noticed later on that it was all placed in the NPC-Server message, it doesn't make you feel involved at all. The graphics are very inconsistent in style and while this is probably due to a couple of people contributing in that area, it's not very attractive or pleasing to the eye. In addition to these things, it is far too easy to compare the server to other servers such as Era because of its graphic influence and level design. You don't have to make a modern server that looks like Era to look attractive, take a look at some threads that Dusty has made about the issue.

Overall it wasn't something that I would play, but I appreciated the attempt at originality.

Yeah, looks like a ver nice server. I think it'll be something like Era but from the future lol.

I've been on this server, it looks alright.

But im pretty upset that they started flaming on one of my staff, just simply because he works on AEON. They said things like:
"AEON sucks" "Spawn will be better than AEON." WITHOUT ANY REASON!
One of the management said "f*** off kid" and threaten that he was going to "crack his jaw".

Thats something that better change if they wish to remain on hosted for long.

Spawn was a server that I actually decided to help out in my spare time because the person who started it was a good friend.. I'm the one who tried to take this modern aspect they were going for and develop it in a way so that it wouldnt be so "Era-like". And I can say with confidence that this server would be nowhere near Hosted without my help. So with that said there have been a few problems with the other staff members, including the Manager aside from myself. I've already warned all the of staff about not doing certain things and i've set small rules to be followed. (Which were broken within a matter of hours upon being Hosted..) And now i've set out for my friend, whom is the other Manager. I've threatened him with me quitting if he doesnt straighten out his act because I know that being on Hosted requires a certain level of professionalism and i've assigned him to change certain aspects and figure out little things before I continue helping the server. So with that said, I apologize for the flaming your friend recieved and for the verbal abuse that you also recieved. Im hoping that things will be fixed and I can go back to working on Spawn because I have quite a few great ideas in mind that will differentiate us from any other "modern" attempt for a server. And thanks to all those who gave positive feedback, and also Rufus for creating this thread. ^^

Oh, I remember this server. Some really nice staff travelled along with me and showed me a lot of really fabulous things! The gun effects are absolutely fantastic, really good job guys. Keep it up!1

Jobs are quite cool, they should ditch the Era theme and aim for something more Bravo Evolved-ish.

The jobs were awesome, I was gonna help but I got fired because a gun I had made in 10 minutes looked like an era gun they said...It wasn't but I do wish them luck I actually styled the gun after a gun on fallout 3...

I like how it wasn't all hyped up by staff or anything, and kept very low-key. I didn't check it out too much, but I ran around for a bit. I gotta say though the it doesn't seem very futuristic, just modern with a lot of blue, silver, and metal.

I don't want anyone taking this the wrong way but what exactly is the point of this thread? Would have been more effective to PM a staff member online to talk about problems he may of had, as they clearly do not use the forum (or if they do, they opted to be very silent about their project). If it was a PR job then he failed pretty myserably because he focused on the playerworld's flaws moreso than the pros. I definately don't want to check it out now. Last time I seen players posting playerworld reviews they were either PWAs or players trying to become PWAs.

The first gun I saw was stolen from a handgun I made for Bravo Evolved years ago. I don't really care enough to track down my original and prove it, yada yada, but *shrug*.

Oh is it? I didn't know.. it was already on the server when I had came around so I just assumed that it had been made by one of the people working on Spawn way before.. But ill be sure to delete it and make a new one. (I'm assuming you're referring to the glock?)

I posted this thread because this is a forum and this is the Playerworlds Main Forum, which coincidently is dedicated to playerworlds. The fact that the playerworld has yet to have been discussed on this forum at all, which coincidently is dedicated to the game, yet has been moved to the Hosted tab is odd and therefore the discussion was born. I didn't review the server, I simply pointed out what I liked and disliked about it and as a member of staff clearly posted in this thread and thanked me for opening the discussion, my suggestions were effectively noted. As the server has had minimal coverage you don't really see it unless you scroll down to the bottom of the hosted tab, I personally feel as though the server is worth a visit and therefore encourage players to visit. I do not however, encourage douchebags to visit because I'm sure the staff members care for your angst. Would have been more effective to troll me with correct spelling, but I guess we can't always be perfect in how we post.

I see you had to take it upon yourself to do the job a staff member from the server would have done eventually. Rufus, standing up for the little people.

Eh? Up until a couple of minutes ago the staff didn't even visit the forum according to you. The playerworld has been on the hosted tab for a couple of days now so it is pretty current news, but with no open discussion. I don't see how posting a thread about a topic related to Graal because there wasn't one already, intending on both complimenting and giving some suggestions, whilst reccomending people to log onto it is "sticking up for the little" people at all either. Grow up.

Well the good thing is that this is a community(albeit a very lock-down and controlled one), so one members word is not the only one. If anyone explored a server and downright hated it, they're free to feel and express that, and in turn other members are allowed to agree or disagree. At the most this thread starts a discussion and gives everyone a chance to chime in. I mean, it's the playerworld section, what else is there to talk about?

I mean, how often do new Hosted/Classic servers come around, are you really going to let the opinion of one person sway you from trying it out?

Yeah, that'd be the glock.. I believe we have a different graphic lined up to replace that anyways.. Sorry for the inconvenience though. x_x

the manager claimed that someone named magnus, made it for them.
but im not sure about that, it was made 4 years ago for zone.
im also staff on aeon, just as vima, and when i was on aeon, with my (GAT) tag on, i was pmed by the manager asking if i wanted to gfx for spawn, when i refused, i continued to talk a bit with him, and after him saying that aeon was a joke, i said it was not, and suddenly he said something about that he would break my legs if i didn't live that far away, because of being cheeky, now i don't know what cheeky means, but if i had thought of screenshotting that at the time, i would've had a screenshot here to prove that he threatened me.

uhm, i didn't **** about his graphics, i just said aeon wasn't a joke. Never ****ed about anyones graphics.

and yeh, if someone threatens me like that, and i noticed something wrong about the graphics, afcourse im going to report it,
