I have just started gfxing about 1-2 weeks ago. These are some of the
swords I made. I would like to know everything you think about them.
Remember this is like my fourth time trying to make swords and shading
them.

The first one looks odd, but I really like the second one, looks grim and deviates from the cartoony graal look. I like.

I think they'd look better without the black outlines

The colors are droll. They look like slightly darkened MSPaint default colors...

I like the second one a lot, the first one just looks too odd for me. ^^

Yep looks very odd, you could just take off the black outlines and stop shading this way, just like on the red bottom of the first one. Just try another style, be random and choose alot of different pixels, don't just take MSPaint ones, choose your owns.

change the colors and work on the shape and i think it will be fine :D

Agreed. Makes them stick out more, and show that they are part of the players sprites.

you didn't use paint ? Then what's this crappy result? Using paint and starting with pixel art, Ok I can understand, but not using paint....what the hell did you use then?

I really can't see how you can get to such result when you don't use paint.
I mean, if he didn't use a program similar to paint then why is it so crap ?

I'm not saying he has no skills, but seriously if he done it in programs like photoshop and all, where getting a brush takes you about 20mns, why wouldn't he do it in paint?

MSPaint is pretty irrelevant here - it's obvious you're talking about his skills, in which case it shouldn't even matter what program he uses.

Nobody has skills when it comes to use photoshop.

you would know at the start of thread I said, i was just starting to Gfx, then
you would understand that I do not know everything about gfxing so just shut
up and get a life.

since when does using photoshop suddenly mean your graphics are going to turn out amazing? regardless of what program you're using, you're going to be doing the same exact thing. photoshop doesn't really have anything more than paint does to make pixel art.

I know this, but I guess people will never understand how this works...
Why would you buy or register and advanced program to make a GFX like this, when you only need paint ?

Soala I really must say that I highly dislike the attitude you're giving.. Its obvious this guy came here for help, yet instead you're flaming him for a program he's using? Cmon man, lighten up a bit. You're acting as if you didnt start out bad when you first came into GFX. Placing pixels isnt a god given talent, it takes time and it takes alot of learning. So quit with all the bull**** you're putting out and try to be helpful rather than a pain in the ass. :mad:

By the way, i believed you have had crappier results when you just started out like him. Dont be so ****y looking at other people's level of skill; you were once there too. I believe you got better due to constructive comments and not from people ridiculing your works, i hope you respect others before posting too.

It appears here that zeek brought this on himself, and you guys need to lay of soala he offered criticism and zeek couldn't take it, Nothing wrong here.

No - he's bashing on his work based on what program he uses. That's kinda like me calling you stupid based on what OS you use on your computer.
Anyways, you can call soala telling zeek his work is "crap" "criticism", but for the rest of us it's thoughtless and stupid - which anyone with an ounce of decency could point out.
