Infraction notice

When we actually do happen to get one, I think it's a poorly organized one:

Quote:

Dear poor, hapless soul,

You have received an infraction at Graal Forums.

Reason: insert reason here
-------
some random related notes here about your infraction. Usually a statement of disbelief or their disappointment. Sometimes a cheap jab at you.
-------

This infraction is worth X point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

All the best,

It's not clear, it's not precise. I propose something more organized:

Quote:

Dear poor, hapless soul,

You have recieved an infraction worth X amount of points. It will expire in X days.

Official Reason: insert text-book reason here
Administrative Notice: some random related notes here about your infraction. Usually a statement of disbelief or their disappointment. Sometimes a cheap jab at you.

I approve of this suggestion.

The infraction notice's content is predefined on vBulletin and as far as I know there is no real way of changing this. I'm not even sure if there's modifications to allow you to do this either, but you should know how these forums are when it comes to plugins and modifications. I agree it is quite badly formatted, but that's something that originates from vBulletin rather than these forums.

It's forum software. vB is written in PHP, so you can modify it. You can basically modify anything on here.

Significant amounts, if not all, of the vBulletin code are protected with Zend Guard/Optimizer, so that you cannot just edit the code. It is obfuscated and encoded in Zend intermediate code. Sorry.

That's what I thought in watching my husband use vBulletin, but wasn't sure.
You said it better then I would anyway. :)
