Revitalize Era

Era doesn't have a clear leader. It's constantly in a fray on who's in charge. Right now it's impossible to have multiple managers of each department (Guns, Business, FAQ, etc). I say, pick an acting Manager that is suitable to manage the whole entire staff department. Than together as a whole staff department, they should compile key issues as to what they should address into revitalizing Era. When do the staff department do this? I don't think ever, it's pretty much behind the curtains even to developers.

I would say compile a list of key issues, address the important key issue out of the rest, and go down the list from their. Eventually Era will fall into a better position of creating a better future.

Forget about gangs, parties, business. Right now they need to address this whole economic infrastructure, and than onto guns. It's totally imbalanced, and adding more things will just lead to an inevitable downfall. Era has yet to climb up into a steady growth. People are thinking way outside the box, and that's unnecessary for Era's situation. So yeah, that's just how I feel, and I'm open for any debates, criticism, etc.

P.S. I think Era needs to restructure the staff team, and how it works together.

It's not as easy as "pick an acting manager that is suitable to manage." Suitable managers don't just grow on trees, that's the problem. It's not a process that is best rushed either, otherwise you just get more crappy managers for Era and then we're right back where we started.

Yes, but I meant it as a slow quality pick decision, not a fast paced one.

The economy should be the last thing in mind in my opinion and if you care about the economy, you certainly don't want masa balancing weapons like he really wants to because theat would effect prices. So yeah, those 2 don't even go hand and hand D:

Personally I'd love to see my gang system made in hopes to brining something brand new to Era, as well as something that will be long lasting and fair for all players, rather their our current system which gangs seem to fall apart so quick in and even if they didn't theres no variety of themes, nor chances for newer players. Another thing I'd like to see done is releasing things on RC that are sitting there. If somethings done and done well, why is it just sitting on RC doing nothing? I don't get it. Also, I think gun balancing before the reset (whenever the Hell that may be) is without a doubt needed, but people care too much about their guns stats and costs to effectively do that. As for businesses, I'll hopefully be releaseing a brand new store here soon which should be tons of fun for it's employees. Eventually I'd like to replace gun/explosive stores with the small business system, but revamped so it didn't sell "rare" items, but only basic things like AM, GP, and PT with a few other explosives probaly.

I just wish we had more scripters on this server...or better yet Andy. D:

Current setup hasn't proven to be a better alternative though, either.

Having a gun admin nerfing/buffing Guns all the time, destroying the prices of the guns, making rich people poor and poor people rich is really dumb.

And that is just an example.

Freudian_slip 01-14-2009 08:19 PM

Until the guns are balanced, a guns admin is needed if people like the price changes or not. We are prepareing for a new Era, not trying to fix this peice of **** we have now.
Unless you guys want absolutely no say in guns future stats then this is needed so we can balance them with you.

Is there anything available for scoping about New Era? i.e; Guns w/ stats, new map, plans, etc?

I think you should share some to the public, and get some public opinion about it.

a manager doesn't have to be a great developer, he simply needs to know who to give an rc and what to assign them to. after thats done he periodically would check up on their progress while creating a clear and precise vision of what he wants to do with the server.

deathbarrier99 01-15-2009 05:06 AM

As usual, a reset may be in order.

zim5354 01-15-2009 06:19 AM

thats all "new era" is just old era with a reset and a different staff team which will be gone in a few months.

CharlieM 01-15-2009 02:29 PM

HOW EXCITING!!...Dunno if any work is being done on it anymore then since andy quit and it seems like all the other staff have a habit of just logging on era,(I'm only on era about an hour a week so thats being sarcastic)
