ATL80.DLL Is Missing :O

1 Attachment(s)
I searched the forums and no-one else seems to have had this problem. I double clicked a .nw file in the file browser of the RC to download and edit it, i did it once successfully but the second time a pop-up message came up and told me that:
"Couldn't find library ATL80.DLL"

:cry:

Download the attached manifest file and place it into the same folder as the remotecontrol2.exe, and rename the manifest file to remotecontrol2.exe.manifest (chop off the .txt).

Install this:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

It should work fine with ATL90.DLL even though it asks for ATL80.DLL, if it still doesn't work after you download that then I'll give you a manifest that points so an older version.

Though, make sure you have the latest version of the remotecontrol2.exe

These DLL problems are getting worse and more common. Would it be too hard for Graal just to create it's own set of libraries and installation entry in the Add/Remove Programs section (as oppose to just some program that you can download and run from whatever folder it's in)?

That has nothing to do with it actually. All Stefan would need to do is provide a proper manifest for each executable and optionally a private assembly.

When people originally started having DLL problems, Stefan didn't know how to fix them, or just wanted to avoid the Visual C runtimes, so changed the PM windows to use the in-game GUI and removed any dependencies on the runtime.
