Thor and Co.

I challenge you to start a newbie account, go on Classic, and beat Sartan's quest on your own. With no outside assistance.

Please, let me know that it's possible.

Oni 10-22-2008 09:31 PM

i feel u haha!

draygin 10-22-2008 10:36 PM

Which quest is Sartan's quest.. is that the one where you get jailed? I didn't think it was that bad although it took some time for me to figure out how to kill the final boss.

(I've just started doing all the quests on classic again in the past month.)

If that's the one then I found it easiest to let his fire reflect off the north and south door and hit him thus over time killing himself.

edit: I thought the scripting behind the rat boss was very poor. I've had tougher fights from the default baddies.

knightfire35 10-23-2008 03:29 AM

Good luck.

DustyPorViva 10-23-2008 03:32 AM

Apparently Thor has beat it 4 times on different P2P's, and countless times on guest accounts. All by himself.

Wow, that almost suggests it's fun or something. I didn't find it too hard as I did it with two other people, but I can imagine it would be hard to do it alone. It's not really challenging-hard though, more like a tedious, time consuming, and chore-like hard.

I found it pretty good, the only thing I found hard was the boss which is what a boss should be, hard.

Only thing I dislike is the ugly green walls.

Same with me, dude. Same with me.

It's a good quest though and an improvement from before. I just don't like how you have to be forced to do this quest or graal castle quest before you can actually play on the overworld.

I had to get a FAQ do it for me with his overpowered NPC-weaps. :P Getting attacked by 5 gold baddies while getting sucked into the middle of the room where something hurt you if you touch it. A little too much isn't it? :P

draygin 10-23-2008 07:50 PM

I found that room fairly easy if you stand in the upper right corner of the room you won't get sucked into the portal. Then you just attack the baddies as they approach you.

I personally think it would be cooler if the secret was to drop bombs that the portal would suck up and explode after so many of them.

jorollychu 10-23-2008 08:11 PM

it's retarded and the enemies have too much health

I found I couldn't do that because in order to stay in the corners I have to fight against the portal, which means I'm always going to be facing away from the center of the room, so I can't attack the baddies.

The worst part of the quest is the fact baddies are serverside. They fly all around the room and it makes it nearly impossible for me to attack them. I get attacked a lot without even seeing the baddy actually hit me. It's terrible.

The push/pull with the blocks wasn't hard, but it took me like half an hour just because blocks are pushed 1 tiles a ****ing second. At least with default movement you could hold two directions to speed up pushing and pulling... not here though!

Mark Sir Link 10-23-2008 10:07 PM

imo the limited health is the most frustrating part

DustyPorViva 10-24-2008 03:29 AM

Ya, back when those quests were made, max health was a lot higher and people had level 3 swords. Now you're trying to take on 10 baddies, 5 or so which constantly shoot fireblasts at you.

Oh, and buggy health which allows them to stack damage on you -_-.

Like the other side of the pillow.

draygin 10-24-2008 06:58 PM

I used my bow and bombs a lot rather than fighting with my sword. Example: if I could get all the baddies to group up on one side of a wall I would drop bombs infront of them and move out of the blast area. I'd keep blasting them with bombs until they all died. It really made the whole dungeon a lot easier.

I found in the room that pulled if I stayed up against the wall in any direction then I wouldn't get pulled. So I would run until they where all above me then turn around and swing my sword very fast and they'd get hurt and thrown back. They would keep comming at me at an angle and I would eventually kill them with out being hurt.

Crono1508 10-24-2008 10:16 PM

You know what's more challenging?

Actually logging on...

draygin 10-24-2008 10:47 PM

I find the amount of mass messaging from the staff bothersome. I feel like a jerk because they're just doing events and fun stuff for the players. I usually end up putting them on ignore. :o

I actually enjoyed the quest, and stayed on Classic to do the rest of the quest and some events.

Then I decided I'd never return when some ass told me the quest wasn't even finished.

If you beat Sardon, how can it not be finished.

Either I'm thinking of something completely different, or the quest 'continues' onto a second quest, which isn't finished.

I went to Babord and did that big-ass push/pull quest in one of warehouses with Master Li in it, only to find out the door on the otherside led nowhere.

I could be wrong on the Babord thing but I think Rufus just restored the levels so it was old Babord again. He wouldn't of rescripted the quests or anything.

Kia, the majority of the quests on Classic do lead to another quest in some way but it doesn't mean the quest itself isn't finished.

We just fixed up minor areas, some insides, etc but the buildings that used to contain something (such as the minigame huts) didn't get done and I can't remember why as I remember fixing up those levels.
