Battle Mode?

Well, no one online seemed to know, and I searched the forums but the only information was quite old and I wasn't sure if it still applied. So here is my question,

Does Battle Mode allow you to receive more EXP when killing monsters, lords, etc.?
What exactly are the advantages of switching to Battle Mode?

In advance, thank you for your information.:D

There has been some tinkering with Battle Mode, but at this point I believe you can get more EXP.

I've been bmode since level 3. Just make sure your fast enough to hit Bomboria Trade. ;)

I think the ammount of extra exp isn't worth that much. It doesn't really make a noticeable difference. But I suppose every little helps.

Depends on how you play. When I used to play by myself and keep to myself, I did just fine surviving on bmode. Sure, every now and then there'd be a PKer, I'd get killed, and get real frusterated. But when you start meeting everyone, that's when you start getting PKed. And if you lay low and keep to yourself, you tend to not get very far anyways (in terms of power-playing, but of course I used to have plenty of fun on GK without being at a competitive level). So actually, that extra EXP does make a difference for people like that. (ignore the fact that people like me and you can start GK from scratch and do pretty well with lone-play... we've learned the game.)

So it depends on your style really. Most likely you want to be high level, have rare items, be popular in a kingdom, and therefore likely end up with enemies as well. But if you just like to RP, enjoy the different types of gameplay GK has to "offer", and "hang out" with your own private group of friends, then you'll likely be safe on bmode except for the few occassions a PKer will get to you, and likely leave you alone afterward unless you further provoke him (and it will be a him).

I went bmode when I was level 35 and I was quite well known in the community and a part from a few people I almost never got PKed. I think the main reason why is that I was in a good kingdom and I found my fellow kingdom members helped me when a PKer attacked. I guess I'm saying bmode is not bad if you know the right people who will protect you against Power-PKers because they are the only people in bmode who will attack low levels.

It also helps that most power playing pkers have left.

Yea go bmode :) ill protect you

I tested it. Killed the same lord twice in Pmode and Bmode.
First kill yielded 7.5k, and in Bmode 10k. So if Bmode increases percentage-wise, that means 30% gains.

If that is true sounds worth it to me. Just don't keep anything too valuable on you, or always have enough plat to cover death.

That's how I started to play GK also.

Bmode is worth it.
Keep at least 500 plat on you and you'll be fine.

cbk1994 10-23-2008 05:43 AM

Tig confirmed that you do get an increase in experience.

Wow, people still play this server? I have rarely seen the player count pass 15 for the past year now.

Then you're blind. Kingdoms has been in the 30s and higher this year. It is kind of cute that you walk in on this thread like you actually have some idea what Kingdoms is though.

Yocas 10-27-2008 11:03 PM

OH MAN 30s?! NICE DUDE. So that's like what, roughly 7 people per kingdom? That's like a normal player count for events on most classic servers. I think I'll save my money and stick with those.
