Tree connecting first attempt

1 Attachment(s)
Basically this is my first try ever connecting trees the right way, i sure hope i could get some feedback on how i could improve my connecting, if you can see errors.
don't look at the rest of the level, i know it's **** and i just wanted to fill the rest of the space, i believe there are some tile errors in the pathing which i really dont know how to solve at this time.

feedback please.

Idk what to say, but well, trees are perfectly connected
But you could make something more random, like a group of tree then in the middle a hole =)

Good job with the trees, you connected them all properly.

As for the path:

The blue tile I circled is supposed to be repeated where the red lines are pointing.

I'd recommend you play around with the automated path generator at first! It's fun ;)

Select the sand path (highlighted in image) then control with your mouse. Left click to start!

Crono 09-26-2008 06:57 PM

No, do NOT play around with that. You will develop bad habits, that thing is at very best used to give you a mental picture of how a path may look in big open areas.

The paths that come from it are always ugly.

I use it as a guide to where the path should be on levels, I then edit it manually to make it look better!1 :D It's fun to play with :p

Path generator's are ok as long as you edit it heavily...

If you leave all those red stones in a path I'll beat you with a trout.

Personally I've never used a tile generator but I can see the desire to.

O rlly....idk I had more fun in making paths from scratch, but I guess for making a OW or something that would be a nice tool to help use time up better...if you edited it.

DutchGuy 09-27-2008 07:32 PM

i guess ill stick with crono's advice to just manually practice it. I mean that is the way to learn it best, I believe path generators are good to see how it should actually work, but i believe when I make it from scratch i would be more satisfied as i could actually say that I made it hand-made.

anyway thanks for the advice WandaMan
