Deleteing Inactive Accounts?
 

I was just wondering, if an account has not been used with 2 years, and has never had gold, shouldnt it be deleted? because the Trials taking good usernames is true, but if they quit and there has NEVER been any upgrades then it shouldnt still be here.

They do "Graal######" Accounts now..

You can't set your community names to already taken account/community names, so purging old accounts (that haven't spent a single dollar on Graal) after # amount of time could be good.

Maybe if they've been inactive trial accounts for over 7 years or so...

I think 3-6 months (since last usage) should be enough to warrant a deletion of an inactive trial account. After all, it's just a trial account.

Maybe just rename to Graal######, and let them change their community name if they come back.

You can't exactly rename an old account to a Graal##### since those didn't exist. I believe those are the ones he's especially referring to.

My old gold account was deleted. I hadn't used it in 4 years though.

Old trial accounts are usually deleted on request, use the support center for that. It's true that we could remove all old trials accounts some time.

Well i want to get a new account because PrinceOfKenshin isn't exactly my favorite thing. But now i can't because i can't name it whatever i want. Which is so stupid.

Same here and i really don't want a Graal###### name and have to upgrade just to "change" it to whatever.

Stefan, I believe people should have the option to pick their account name early on if they wish and should be warned of the consequences of not getting a Graal###### account and picking community name later. If they pick their account name when the account is first made then that also becomes their community name.

This is a terrible idea, why? Because I got an old trial I look back to and I say "that was mine".

Trials should be allowed to change their community name, or change their account name when they upgrade. They should be aware that if they decide to get an account name, rather than a community name, they will lose everything they have on all servers.

I agree with this, as many many trials are a waste of database space, account/community names.
